The group Starsailor released their latest album 'On the Outside' (EMI label) with track 11 called Jeremiah. Click here for the lyrics.

Jeremiahs family and friends knew nothing about this beautiful song until by chance they heard the interview between James Walsh the song writer/ singer on the Simon Mayo BBC Radio Five show on the 20th October 2005. 

Then on the 24th October 2005 Simon invited Erica Duggan to join his show at 3 pm when Simon hoped to set up a phone link with the singer.
Sadly this was not possible so here are some of our thoughts and words of thanks to the group for giving us such a beautiful ballad.
 
Erica Duggan : "Your song is so simple and yet it says everything we what to express. Yes Jeremiah had dreams for a better world and the world destroyed him.

The last line expressed my tender prayer to Jeremiah 'Little one do not fear the ways of the world will soon be clear'  I never got the chance to tell my son these words but now they are in this song."
 
Hugo Duggan : "Your song expresses in a beautiful way all that we have worked so hard for two and a half years to achieve. There is a line in the song which says: 'We hope some day someone will tell us the Truth.' Please let your song go through the world and bring us the answers."
 
Jerry’s sister: “Thank you for your song. It is amazing how some-one who has never met my brother could understand him so well.  He was gentle, kind and a loving brother. He always loved the song Imagine by John Lennon and the idea of people living in peace around the world. It gives me a lot of comfort to know that all over the world this song may be played with the message “I hope someday some-one will tell us the truth.” Everyday I hope that I will be told one day by some-one what happened the night my brother died.”

Jerry’s Grandmother: “After hearing the song the phrase the songwriter used in the song - “Poor young man” kept coming into my mind over and over because its true - Thank them." 

Other comments taken from those who knew Jerry and those that did not are :

- Its a lament but its got hope

- Its amazing and he did not even know Jerry and it’s just what happened to him.

- I think that this song will tell us what some people don’t want us to know.

- Jeremiah is an extremely beautiful song with a lot of emotion! Every time I listen to it, I shiver, and I’m ready to cry.

- When you hear Jeremiah it makes you sit up and listen. You hang on every word. It’s such a sad, yet emotionally charged song. It’s what Starsailor do so well…

- It’s a wonderful song

- The only real ballad on the album, but without doubt the best song on the album is so perfect, as good as track as anything they have ever recorded. Turn down lights…and chill to this wonderful song.

- I think we should have a mass campaign to have Jeremiah released.

- Beautiful and gorgeous.

 - I love the song.

- I know it will be a hit.

- There should be a campaign to release it as a single
