Mr. Jacques CHEMINADE - biographical data

Jacques CHEMINADE was born on August 20, 1941, in Buenos Aires, Argentine.  He arrived in Paris in 1959 and in 1964 graduated from the Faculty of Law and the School of Higher Commercial Studies. During his military service in the Cooperation Service at the French Embassy in Honduras, he became aware of the forces hindering the development of the Third World and decided on a career in public administration. He therefore entered the National School of Administration (ENA and graduated in 1969 in the Jean-Jaures class.

At the Directorate of External Economic Relations in the Ministry of Economy (DRESS), Jacques CHEMINADE shared the struggle of those who, regardless of party differences, upheld French national independence within the Common Market and looked upon British manoeuvres with mistrust. Appointed Attaché and later Deputy Commercial Counsellor at the French Economic Expansion Office, New York (1972-1977), he realized the immediate dangers of Anglo-American financial control on the international monetary system and considered Jacques RUEFF’s doctrine more justified than ever.  Two issues affected him deeply: American societys economic and moral degradation and the coup detat in Chile.

That was the time when Jacques CHEMINADE, educated in the Republican tradition of "peace through understanding" started to cooperate closely with Lyndon LAROUCHE.

On his return to France in 1978, he was in charge at DREE of export credit policy.  There, he grew even more convinced that only a new international monetary system could halt the economic crisis.

While Secretary-General of the Parti Ouvrier European and President of the Nuclear Energy National Committee, Mr. CHEMINADE developed his ideas in a book, The Science of Republican Education. An ardent humanist, he adheres to the tradition of the builders of France, the nation-state, that of Louis XI, Jean-Baptiste COLBERT, Lagare CARNOT and Charles de GAULLE.   He upholds a voluntarist economic policy, creating new resources at the service of the nation’s scientific advancement, against the Malthusian political economy based on the plunder of existing resources.
